Mandate

What the academy does

  • Map the extraction, processing and transit of critical minerals across the Eurasian interior
  • Track energy corridor development and its effect on regional bargaining power
  • Study water allocation across transboundary basins as a strategic resource question
  • Assess industrial and logistics technologies that determine who captures resource value

Foundation

Founded in 2016 as an independent, privately endowed research branch of the federation, established to study the resource geography of the Eurasian interior at a moment when the region's minerals, pipelines and rail corridors were being redrawn.
